Our business dates back to June 1989 were Beverley and David Philpott (Snr) purchased a franchise from Elders Real Estate at Modbury, Beverley was already a local and licenced agent having both worked in the North Eastern areas of Modbury and also the North Adelaide office for Elders Real Estate, David Philpott was a previously a manager at ARC/Humes who started his career in real estate at Elders Toorak Gardens office, they felt the time was right to start their own real estate company. Beverley was well respected with in the Elders system and was in fact the first female franchise manager for this company she was also the top salesperson with in the group for a number of years, David Philpott was an established agent and property manager with a great business brain managed the staff and made sure the business ran on the cash positive side, this office then expanded into two office being Elders Modbury and Tea Tree Gully, They were then given the opportunity in 1992 due to Elders North Adelaide folding to open a franchise in the suburb of Prospect in which Beverley and David Both lived this would also better assist with their work life balance with three young boys, so they established an Elders Prospect franchise and sold off their previous Elders Franchises they had been running this business for about 12 months and were approached to join the Ray White Group by Nick George in 1993 to open Ray White Real Estate Prospect always up for a challenge and having strong belief in a better future with the Ray White Group they endeavoured on a Journey and during this time had achieved much success taking out many awards including top Auction office on several occasions and was joined by David Philpott (Jnr) in 1995 who was 18years old at the time who launched his sales career under the guidance of Beverley Philpott in 1999 Benjamin Philpott also joined the business to head up the 100 home property management department at the age of 21 under the guidance of David Philpott (snr) both David (Jnr) and Benjamin enjoyed much success during this period with Ray White David taking out many quarterly sales awards for high achievement and Benjamin taking out Property Manager of the year award for the entire group, during this time Beverley continued success in the marketing and selling of property resulted in her receiving the Alan White Award one of the highest accolades with in the Ray White Group, in 2004 the family was approached by the RE/MAX brand and was asked to head up one of their new offices (RE/MAX First Choice) as they were coming into the South Australian property market in a big way as a family we decided that we would go on this journey with this company that had much success in other states, these were testing times for our business, we continued to look towards the future and carried on running a successful franchise within the group our office was rated highly with in the RE/MAX group and both Beverley and David (Jnr) continued to receive accolades from the group, both Beverley and David (jnr) making the Hall of Fame for excellence in achievement of Sales, during this time our desire to become a truly independent company was growing and in 2010 this vision was realised when we became a full independent company trading as DB Philpott Real Estate during this journey our loyal clients have remained with us and the journey has all occurred whilst we have been servicing the Prospect, Blair Athol and inner north areas, The rental department of our business has also gone from strength to strength with now more than 1000 properties managed by our company and 80% of the growth coming from word of mouth business, Beverley and David Philpott (Jnr) still offer their award winning service with our sales department going from strength to strength and we feel we can offer so much more as truly independent locally owned family business, we employ several loyal local staff members the staff range from reception, admin staff, sales, sales admin, property & Strata managers.
